Annual Conference

  Innovate | Involve | Inspire 2012

A National Conference for the Community and Voluntary Sector

The Wheel's Annual Conference is one of the largest annual gathering of the community and voluntary sector in Ireland. The conference - hosted at Croke Park since 2004 -  attracts the top thinkers on civil society from both home and abroad.

Join some of the leaders from our sector as we explore how community, voluntary and charity organisations can produce better outcomes by:

  • ensuring that our work is based on firm evidence
  • doing more with less, delivering value for money
  • using reliable indicators to measure progress
  • being accountable
  • working collaboratively and streamlining operations to maximise impact and avoid duplication of effort
  • clarifying our vision of what is possible for our society
  • involving people in the decisions that affect them.

National Week of Volunteering 14th - 20th May

Thanks to all who participated - individual volunteers, groups, companies and schools - the  National Day of Volunteering 2011  was such a great success, that this year there will be a NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK from 14th to 20th of May. So lets get ready to show what we are really made of - put the week in your dairies now and plan for an even bigger event in 2012.

Lets organise volunteering events, showcase our groups, offer training, hold seminars and put volunteering and community involvement on the national map.

Lets challenge the image of Ireland the uncaring, toss off the tiger blues and acknowledge  the warmth, generosity  and great work of the voluntary and community sector and of each and every volunteer.

Lets give the young and the old, the down-at-heart and the down-at-heel a chance to contribute through volunteering.

Lets show the world that volunteers live longer, are happier and more content than non-volunteers and give everyone a chance to offer their skills, life experiences and talents to their local community.

Come on ... join us.
